Woodcraft Rangers Day Camp programs provide campers with a full day camp experience that includes exciting club activities from our curriculum library mixed in with camp traditions that have been around for 100 years! Camp staff can choose to work in Day Camps, Sleepaway Camp, or both! Position Information:
The Program Support Specialists are responsible for supporting the Seasonal Program Manager to ensure high-quality Summer Day Camp programs.
Program Support Specialists also provide guidance and technical assistance to Site Coordinators and Day Camp staff.
The Program Support Specialist will serve as a Program Support Specialist through the end of the summer season.
Overall
Responsibilities:
Ensure programs are structured in a way that supports a safe environment (physical and emotional).
Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity, for all program participants, staff, and families.
Supports recruitment and staffing for sites, in partnership with the HR recruiting team.
Coaches Site Coordinators and front line team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and/or customer service.
Promotes professional growth and development for all team members.
In collaboration with the Learning Team, develop and lead trainings to support the dynamic needs of the team and program.
Provide assistance and guidance with crisis-related issues.
Builds and sustains collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders, including, Site Coordinators, and all front line staff.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and observe programs for quality control and contractual compliance, in alignment with state, district and organizational requirements.
Provide Program Manager with updates and recommendations based on observations and interactions with program staff.
Complies with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including, up to date on all trainings and required certifications.
Participate in staff development trainings as required, approximately 30 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1 year of experience managing or supervising a high-performing team High School Diploma or equivalent FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance TB Test clearance First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR) Ability to travel to multiple sites.
6 months experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school or recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
Ability to use smart phone for work related business (WR provides wifi/cell stipend) Woodcraft Rangers will require proof of vaccination for ALL employees providing any in-person work with staff or clients.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and move around a large facility/space.
The employee is required to speak, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
